Victor Phan is a native of Southern California whose lifelong dream was to become a comic book artist. However, his focus shifted from the world of graphic novels to film during his teenage years and its ability to reach a wider audience. Phan began working as a production assistant on Vietnamese music videos at the age of 18. He spent his college years working on sets during his weekends, while attending California State University, Fullerton where he would finish both his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts in Screenwriting degrees. Phan began his career as a professional writer, publishing short horror stories in small circulation magazines and anthologies, while he was still an undergraduate. After he graduated, he taught screenwriting classes at Fullerton College from 2007-2016 while freelancing as screenwriter at the same time. Phan began teaching screenwriting courses at California State University, Fullerton, in January 2014 and still teaches there today. Phan focuses the majority of his time working in the tech industry but still writes screenplays on contract for independent producers. Phan is on the board of Orange County Screenwriters Association and is represented by Kelly LaMarr of Nancy Chaidez and Associates Agency.
